West Coast Powder Coating Inc. Policies and Disclaimers:

Temperature Requirements: All components submitted for processing must be able to withstand oven temperatures of up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit for extended periods. WCPC is not responsible for any damage to parts or components resulting from these temperatures during the baking process. Any components vulnerable to high heat must be removed by the customer prior to drop-off. Please note that Bondo and most standard fillers do not withstand these temperatures. If WCPC is required to perform the removal of any components or fillers, additional labor fees will apply.

Out-Gassing: Cast aluminum, iron, and magnesium parts are prone to out-gassing, which may result in bubbling or surface imperfections in the powder coat finish. While WCPC takes every available precaution to mitigate out-gassing, we are not responsible for bubbling or finish issues caused by the natural release of gas from porous substrates.

Pre-Treatment Process: WCPC is not responsible for damage to parts resulting from chemical or mechanical pre-treatment processes. The customer assumes all risk for potential issues such as part warping, trapped blast media, holes forming in thin or corroded metal, or any other unforeseen damage caused by media blasting or chemical washing. Please note that Bondo and most standard fillers do not withstand our pre-treatment processes.

Color Variance & Cosmetic Flaws: All colors must be approved by the customer prior to coating. WCPC is not responsible for minor color variances resulting from different material batches. Any cosmetic flaws or concerns regarding damaged parts must be brought to the attention of WCPC management immediately upon pickup.

Stored and Abandoned Parts: Parts not retrieved within 30 days of completion are considered “in storage” and will be subject to a posted daily storage fee. After 180 days, parts will be considered abandoned and become the property of WCPC. Abandoned property may be sold to recover lost revenue. WCPC assumes no responsibility for the condition or damage of parts held in storage or abandoned.

Minimum Lot Charge per Color Set-Up: A posted minimum lot charge applies to each color set-up for all projects processed at WCPC. This fee covers the essential labor for cleaning equipment between color transitions, the specialized preparation and racking of each job, and dedicated oven operation time. While we make every effort to minimize these costs by grouping projects of the same color, please be aware that this charge applies to each individual color set-up, regardless of the job size.

Turnaround Time & Expedite Requests: At West Coast Powder Coating Inc. (WCPC), we strive to complete every project efficiently without compromising our high quality standards. While we make every effort to provide accurate lead times, our high volume of work means these timelines can fluctuate daily. Please note that any scheduled or implied completion date is an estimate and is subject to change due to unanticipated events. Requests for expedited turnaround times are welcome and will be subject to an agreed-upon fee to offset the additional costs incurred by WCPC.

Deposits: Due to the fluctuating costs of raw materials, a deposit may be required for customers who do not have established credit terms with WCPC. Any remaining balance for work performed must be paid in full at the time of pickup or delivery.

Payment Terms: All invoices are due upon completion of work unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. Please note that a 3% processing fee applies to all invoices paid via credit card. All quoted prices are subject to applicable sales tax.

All sales are final: Due to the custom nature of our services, no refunds will be issued once work is completed. Materials must be inspected at pickup/delivery, and any claims must be reported in writing within 48 hours and before installation. Approved claims may be resolved by repair or rework at our discretion. We are not responsible for damage after materials leave our facility or for pre-existing material defects.

Pre-coating: WCPC suggests all sharp edges be rounded down to hold the appropriate mil thickness of coating. Overlapping metals should be completely welded or filled to prevent moisture build-up. A weep hole should be placed in any area where water may become trapped. If possible, the use of marine-grade castings is recommended to minimize out-gassing and oxidation. An epoxy powder primer base coat is recommended on ALL steel & cast aluminum materials, and materials that will be in close proximity to salt water.

Post-coating: WCPC suggests a routine wash schedule to minimize the effects of weathering and prolong the life of the powder coat finish. Remove all salt, grime, or other build-up by washing the surface with a solution of warm water and a non-abrasive, pH-neutral mild detergent. Thoroughly rinse with fresh water and wipe dry. All surfaces should be cleaned using a soft cloth, sponge, or soft-bristle brush. Never use a hard-bristle brush or steel wool, and never allow the cleaning solution to dry on the powder coat surface. DO NOT, under any circumstances, use strong solvents such as thinners or commercial cleaning solutions. For further protection, you may lightly wax the coated surfaces with a high-grade, non-abrasive wax containing U.V. blockers. Be sure to wipe down any residual wax, and DO NOT, under any circumstance, use compound w

Repairs to Coating: WCPC suggests repairing all minor scrapes or gouges promptly to minimize the chance of premature corrosion. Sand down any exposed areas that show corrosion and apply an exterior metal primer coating, making sure to cover all exposed metal surfaces. Once the primer sets, apply a color-matched enamel top coat. Always install a non-corrosive/non-conductive barrier between dissimilar metals to prevent galvanic corrosion.

West Coast Powder Coating Inc. Limited Warranty on Workmanship: West Coast Powder Coating Inc. (WCPC) warrants items coated by WCPC against significant flaking, cracking, peeling, or excessive fading due to defects in workmanship for a period not to exceed twelve (12) months from the date of completion. This warranty applies to aluminum materials only. Damage to the finish caused by mechanical abuse, including but not limited to, scratching, rough handling, installation, vandalism, extreme weather events, or other uncontrollable natural occurrences, is not covered by this warranty. Any weldment or mechanical assembly with overlapping materials that are not completely sealed creates areas that trap moisture and may prevent full coating coverage; WCPC is not responsible for premature corrosion or coating failure in or from these areas. Furthermore, WCPC is not responsible for premature corrosion or coating failure on any cast aluminum, steel materials, or dissimilar metals affected by electrolysis. Contact with saltwater, fertilizer, pesticides, irrigation water, tree sap, chlorine, harsh chemicals, or industrial cleaners voids this warranty. This warranty is valid only for the original purchaser. Any warranty claim must first be reviewed by WCPC management, and WCPC reserves the right to determine what action, if any, will be taken to rectify the issue. This warranty applies strictly to the repair or replacement of the coating and does not include reimbursement for consequential expenses, including but not limited to removal, disassembly, re-installation, equipment or transportation costs, third-party repair costs, or labor costs. No other implied warranty or agreement is valid. Five-year and ten-year warranties must be agreed upon in writing and signed by both parties.
